Following email security’s best practices can be taxing but in this age, there are only two options: follow security protocols, or get hacked. About 272.3 million email accounts were stolen in 2016. And it’s not an isolated case as email accounts are often compromised in cyber attacks.
Securing your personal information is one way you can do to protect yourself. Regularly change your email password, and never divulge it to anyone. Raising awareness on cyber crime is another. A survey was recently conducted on how many students would give up their friend’s email address for a promise of pizza.
