Information Security Buzz warns companies that employees are “easy bait” for hackers using phishing to penetrate their IT systems. In one survey, 37% of the participants said that they do not check protocols or other safety measures before clicking on a link sent via email. Another 68% said that they will click on the link if it comes from a familiar name, which makes them vulnerable to phishing attacks that use the identities of colleagues, managers, partners, and friends.
This vulnerability makes developing an email security policy a must in any company. It will serve as a guideline for employees to protect themselves and the organization from any attack.
